Shilo civilian has family connection to segregated No 2 Construction Battalion
Shilo, Manitoba — Tracing her family ancestry led Ginger Lamoureux, a member of Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Shilo’s civilian staff, to discover her great-grandfather served in the First World War – specifically as a member of Canada’s first and only racially segregated unit, the No. 2 Construction Battalion.
