(P) The Summer Congress for the Interallied Confederation of Reserve Officers and Interallied Confederation of Medical Reserve Officers recently took place in Estonia.

(R) We spoke with Colonel Bill Kalogerakis, Director of International Reserve Outreach to learn more.

(Colonel) The CIOR Summer Congress is our key event, this is where we gather to conduct professional development training for our junior officers, as well as hold our key military skills competition, where we have teams of junior officers, NCOs and NCMs participating in shooting, in military navigation, and TCCC, as well as other events.

The Interallied Confederation of Reserve Officers consists of over 30 nations, NATO and partners, and here in Estonia, we have over 23 nations represented on the different committees, the young Reserve Officer’s workshop, as well as the military competition.

This is an excellent opportunity for them. Canada is a large country, we don’t have a lot of neighbours, but over here, there’s an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas and dialogue with our partner countries in NATO, as well as other partnership for peace countries, where we can impart on them what we’ve learned and we can listen to them about what they’ve learned. It’s an excellent opportunity for our young, military personnel to exchange ideas.

(R) Before we go, we’d like to remind you that the 2019 Public Service Employee Survey is open. If you haven’t done so already, please make sure to fill it out.

(P) That’s it for us. Thank you so much for watching. See you next time…for Defence Team News!
