Transcript
(C) A Canadian delegation travelled to Courseulles-sur-Mer, France for the 75th anniversary of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy.
(S) Veterans, CAF members, and other members of the delegation attended a ceremony held at the Juno Beach Centre.
(C) We spoke to attendees to learn more about the commemoration of this historic effort.
(JC) Tomorrow morning when we wake up after sleeping on the beaches, we’re going to be getting ready for our parades later on in the afternoon. I think it’s going to be an emotional morning for a lot of us. Just the opportunity we have to be on the same beaches that all the people that came before us were on. It’s going to be unreal. Couldn’t have asked for a better opportunity. I don’t think I’ll have the opportunity to do something like this again in my lifetime and I’ll probably remember this for the rest of my life.
(S) It’s a great month for a ball game, why not play two?
(C) You guessed it, this month is Recreation Month, so get out there and “Play, Your Way”.
(S) The annual campaign is led by Personnel Support Programs who develop and deliver leading-edge occupational fitness, sports, wellness programs, and services on bases, wings and garrisons across Canada.
(C) Canadian Armed Forces communities can take part in a variety of recreational services available to help military members and families get outdoors, get active, and live better.
