(J) Her Majesty’s Canadian Ships Discovery and Vancouver are supporting a 10-day canoe journey bringing together municipal and federal agencies with First Nations participants in Powell River, British Columbia.

(S) The 2019 Pulling Together Canoe Journey is an annual event involving daily visits to various First Nations in the area, giving the opportunity to share stories and build community.

(J) This year is the first year that personnel from both ships will be supporting and paddling in a Royal Canadian Navy canoe during the event.

(S) The Navy has been supporting the journey for 12 years by providing personnel and small boats for the event to take place.
