(KS) Indigenous Awareness Week takes place May 21st to the 24th and brings us together to honour and celebrate the many Indigenous cultures that enrich the Defence Team and our nation.
Lieutenant-General Jean-Marc Lanthier, the Commander of the Canadian Army and Defence Team Champion for Indigenous Peoples, will host an event at National Defence Headquarters in Ottawa on May 22nd at 10:00 a.m. eastern time.
Those who can’t attend in person can also tune into the Canadian Army’s Facebook page for the livestream.
Defence Team members are invited to take part in activities organized in their communities across the country. Mark your calendars and come celebrate Canada’s rich Indigenous history and culture.(S) The 2019 Canadian Forces Liaison Council Employer Awards took place on May 9th.
During this event the top employers and educational institutions from across Canada were recognized for the exceptional support they provide reservists.
This event celebrates employers who allow reservist-employees and students to take leave for military service, which provides balance between their civilian careers, families, education, and military career.
Steam Whistle Brewery in Toronto was named “Most Supportive Employer” at the event in recognition for their outstanding contributions to the program.
