CCFR FO of the Year!!

The CCFR has been blessed with the largest volunteer force in the industry. Literally hundreds of people across the country step forward to give up their time and often use their own resources to help further the goals of the CCFR at events from coast to coast. The CCFR has a very small team of paid staff, who work very hard, but the real heroes of the organization are those that give so freely of their personal time and energy.
We try our best to honour these special members with a “field officer of the month” award, which consists of some mentions on our socials, during the CCFR Radio podcast and on national TV during CCFR Radio On The Air, a feature in CATF and a $100 gift card to the CCFR store. If we’re being honest, it’s hardly a worthy reward for their work, but that’s the thing – they do it because they beleive in it, not for accolades.
We’re taking it a step further and highlighting a CCFR volunteer who consistently goes over and above with “Field Officer of the Year”. 2025 is the first year we are doing this, so it’s a true honour to announce and recognize, Greg Weiss as the FO of the year.
Greg is one of our original volunteer team members and is the Ontario Provincial Co-ordinator. Greg leads the largest unit of CCFR volunteers in the country and is also the lead on the biggest trade shows in the nation, both Toronto Sportsmen Show and TACCOM. He wears a lot of hats in our community because he’s also the manager or our RSO program and a shoot boss for Project Mapleseed. He’s an especially helpful “right hand man” to Tracey Wilson in Ontario and uses his own equipment to haul our trade show booth stuff all over the province. Honestly, without Greg we simply wouldn’t have been able to grow the way we have, and continue to do so.
Greg is a humble guy though. He likely won’t want any of this and that’s why he deserves it. He’s the first guy at an event to help set up and the last one loading up after teardown. He’s always willing and eager to teach new shooters at range events and keeps some of our systems up and running. He’s answered the call by every measure possible and words can’t ever express how valuable he is to the entire CCFR team.
And so, with that – congratulations to Greg Weiss, from the entire CCFR family and beyond.
Thank you for everything you do to promote and preserve the shooting sports in Canada!!!!
